Objects and Spaces - Maurice Mentjens

Maurice Mentjens is one of the most renowned Dutch interior designers, who has been awarded several prizes: in 2005, 2006 and 2007 he won the Dutch Design award. In 2007 he also gratefully received the Design prize of the Federal Republic of Germany. Recently, he was nominated for the Great Indoors Award 2009 in the category: Design Firm of the Year.

This winter, Centre Céramique in Maastricht dedicates an exhibition to the work of this great design talent. The exhibition shows Mentjens’ sources of inspiration, his heroes, and the current state of art of his work. Not only Mentjens' own work but also some exceptional masterpieces of Ettore Sottsass, Ron Arad en Shiro Kuramata will be showcased. Self evidently, the exhibition is designed by Mentjens himself.
